Training & Development Manager
Training & Development Manager: lead learning strategy, design engaging programs, and drive measurable growth across the team to strengthen performance and career paths.
You will be responsible for leading the training function, developing training strategies and implementing programs to meet our team learning needs. You will play a pivotal role in building a culture of continuous learning and improvement at KTL. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader passionate about designing and implementing effective training programs. They are experienced in training management, talent development and organisational learning.
Objectives of the role
· Developing and implementing the training and development strategy in alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
· Identifying training needs and priorities through needs assessments, performance appraisal feedback and stakeholder feedback.
· Designing & developing training programs on our Learning Management System.
· Evaluating training effectiveness through assessments, surveys and feedback to measure learning outcomes and make continuous improvements.
· Managing the training budget, resources and logistics to ensure efficient and effective delivery of training programs.
Your tasks
· Develop and maintain the annual training calendar and schedule, coordinating with department managers and stakeholders to ensure alignment with business priorities such as the Qualified Persons List on OMT.
· Work with the SHEQ Team to ensure mandatory training certification are in date.
· Work with department managers to ensure that all mandatory & compliance training are scheduled in the Learning Management System.
· Track and report on training metrics in the LMS to ensure full compliance with assigned training.
· Oversee the design and development of training presentations in the LMS to ensure mandatory training courses are updated regularly to improve engagement.
· Oversee the design and development of project induction training programs for employees & contractors.
· Work with project teams to develop competency assessments for particular roles
· Identify training providers for mandatory and developmental training.
· Lead and facilitate training sessions ensuring a positive and engaging learning experience for participants.
· Monitor and evaluate training delivery and effectiveness, making adjustments to improve outcomes.
· Collaborate with HR and department managers to identify talent development opportunities and support career growth initiatives.
· Identify and work towards accreditation for relevant internal training courses i.e. PICW courses
· Assist with attaining Chartership for certain management roles where relevant
· Work with HR team on apprenticeships and graduate programs within the Telecom & Power Industry
· Stay updated on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies in training and development.
Required skills and experience
· Third level qualification in Training, Human Resources or a related field.
· 3+ years of experience as a training manager or in a similar training role.
· Experience in the UK mobile telecoms industry an advantage.
· Project management skills for managing training initiatives and timelines.
· Ability to assess training needs and develop training plans in the company.
· Strong leadership and team management abilities to inspire and motivate others.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
· Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on achieving organisational goals through effective training and development initiatives.
· Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and other training technology platforms.
· Experience with e-learning authoring tools and technologies.
· Knowledge of competency-based training.
· Ability to manage the budget for training activities.
